 ShopLink:

Google's Sketchup software is revolutionary free 3D design software used by millions of people all around the world. Architects, interior designers, game developers - all have found ways to use Sketchup to create amazing 3D models for use in their work. ShopLINK extends the power of Sketchup to the world of manufacturing, allowing users to create parametric products, export a BOM, and process parts for nesting and machining!

  Features uiExpand

  • Ready-built parametric product templates allow you to quickly create a library of your standard products.

  • Drag and drop products from the library into a room layout - or - use shopLINK to automate insertion of multiple products.

  • Export a list of parts (BOM) in .csv or .xml format and automatically launch third party applications like MS Excel and EnRoute

  • Apply machining layers and create properly formatted layered .DXF files for use in nesting and manufacturing

      Library Creation & Customization

Using a Sketchup library is easy but, as with any 3D modeling software, creating one from scratch takes time and skill. Skip the learning curve and let us create your product library for you! Our special focus on Sketchup Dynamic components and our experience in manufacturing, particularly in the woodworking industry, makes us the perfect candidate to create your product library.

Before creating a new library it is important to decide whether to build objects using dynamic or static components. Dynamic components are special object types in Sketchup that allow the user to add parametric formulas and "rules" to a model. For example, you could create a dynamic cabinet that added a new drawer automatically for every additional 8 inches of height. Similarly, you could limit the placement of accessory hooks on a slat wall to particular increments corresponding to that material. Dynamic components are powerful but take much longer to create than static products.

Please note: The Sketchup free version allows you to use dynamic components but it will not allow you to create them. You will also not be able to modify the rules or formulas of imported dynamic components in the free version.
